40 years ago today, Nolan Ryan, then with the Angels, threw 235 pitches over 13 innings. Had Ryan only thrown half of that in today's game, fans and players alike would be up in arms . The Angels beat the Red Sox that day 4-3 in 15 innings. Luis Tiant started for the Sox, pitched all 15 innings and took the loss. Baseball isn't a fair game.
