Michael Pineda was ejected from last night's game against the Red Sox for using an illegal substance to doctor the baseball. Pineda was under scrutiny the last time he faced Boston when a sticky substance on his hand was seen by TV cameras but the Red Sox neglected to pursue any wrongdoing. Now Pineda will be suspended for the next 10 games. But is he being suspended for using an illegal substance or is he being suspended for not being particularly discreet about using an illegal substance. And should Major League Baseball just allow pine tar if just about everybody is doing it to get a feel for the baseball?
