San Francisco paid a heartfelt goodbye to Candlestick Park earlier this year when the 49ers played their final home game of the season. While the Giants spend a majority of their time in Candlestick, this was not the first stadium that the relocated Giants called home. When the team opened shop for the 1958 season, Seals Stadium was their home venue and remained so until the end of the 1959 season. Here’s a photo from Opening Day 1958 with the Giants and the Dodgers renewing their rivalry on the West Coast. The Giants won the game 8-0.
