SPRING TRAINING FUN FACT: The Chicago Cubs used to hold their spring training 25 miles off the coast of California on Santa Cantalina Island. From 1921 to 1951, the Cubs prepared for the baseball season all by their lonesome as they were too far from other team's spring training camps to hold exhibition games as we know it today. Being forced to prepare amongst themselves for 30 years might have played a small part in why they haven't won the World Series in 105 years. Just a thought.
