The Atlanta Braves surprised just about everybody today when they announced that they will move out of downtown Atlanta and out of Turner Field after their lease expires in 2016 and into a newly built ballpark in Cobb County, Georgia. The Braves stated the cost of building a new ballpark will be shared by both the Braves and the taxpayers of Cobb County. However, it appears that officials have found a loophole so that no tax hike measure will have to be voted on and the Braves and the county can move on with their own plans.
