The Braves made a splash yesterday and locked up two of their young stars. Atlanta signed outfielder Jason Heyward to a 2yr/$13.3 million contract to buyout the last remaining years of salary arbitration for the All-Star outfielder. But the big news came when first baseman, Freddie Freeman agreed to an 8yr/$135 million contract setting a franchise salary record.
