The Cardinals have signed 3rd Baseman turned 2nd Baseman turned 3rd Baseman again, Matt Carpenter to a 6 year/$52 million deal. Carpenter lead the league in hits, doubles and runs scored last year and finished 4th in the MVP vote, but the 28 year old Carpenter still had four years left until he reached free agency.
